A picture of the Jesuit ruins in Trinidad, Paraguay

The WRC Visited Trinidad, Paraguay

September 4, 2026

Trinidad, Paraguay, is a community, not even a pueblo (town), with a population of around 8000. It is home to Jesuit Ruins, which is a most interesting place to visit. And this past weekend, it was home to 4 stages of the WRC Paraguay Rally. I was at one of the stages and at the finishing area of a second. What a thing to watch! I've watched the rallies on TV for many years, but to see and hear them for real is an incredible experience. Early Saturday morning, between 4 and 5 AM, a storm blew into Encarnación. I was in Trinidad. If you look for the videos, you really should check 'em out. Most of the service area for the rally was just about wiped out. They said nobody was hurt, though, so that's a blessing. The wind, rain, and hail were unbelievable. And this is on a riverside, not a coastal area. I wrote a blog in June 2023 about Trinidad, you can read it here
