Unemployed, again and how I am keeping busy
February 14, 2009
Just a quick update since my last post - I was laid off from work back in September. I had a 6 week contract job doing some PC upgrades/replacements at various Wells Fargo banks here in Tucson and up in the Phoenix area. After that contract ended I've had nothing. I've applied for over 60 jobs, and have had only 2 interviews.

Thanksgiving in Puerto Penasco, Mexico
December 2, 2008
This year Cheryl and I spent Thanksgiving in Puerto Penasco Mexico. Rocky Point, as it is known to most Americans, is located near the north end of the Sea of Cortez on the Mexico west coast. We left mid-morning Thursday, arrived in Rocky Point about 4 hours later. We stayed at the Laos Mar hotel, which is one of the 'Sandy Beach' hotels. There is the sandy beach area on the north side of town, and the rocky shore side to the south. Camping at the Salt River, Wild Horses

At the beginning of this month I was laid-off from work. Slow economy and the company made many lay-offs and cut-backs. So since thien I've been doing some contract jobs - computer replacements at bank branches. I've been working more hours in less days per week than I was before being laid-off. So far most of the jobs have been up in the Phoenix area, so I've been camping rather than staying in a motel, it's cheaper. Last week I stayed at the Coon Ridge Campground on the Salt River.

Today I did a Mtn Bike and Hike on the King Canyon Trail. I found out tonight that mtn bikes are not allowed on the trails inside Saguaro National Park. The trailhead is in the county park, the trail then goes into the national park, where mtn bikes are not allowed. Oh well. I did it and it was a great ride/hike.
Type: Mixed - uphill, downhill, beginner, intermediate

San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park
February 12, 2008
We recently made a trip to San Diego for a few days, and visited the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. As well as a quick visit to Cabrillo National Monument. There are around 200 pictures in the Photo Album from this trip, take a look.
On our first full day in San Diego we visited the San Diego Zoo. It's about 100 acres of incredible hiking, so give yourself plenty of time to see it all.
